A deal has been worked out to send Ken Griffey Jr to the Chicago White Sox.
Reports say that Junior has agreed to a trade to leave his hometown of Cincinnati.
The trading deadline in baseball is 4 p.m. this afternoon and any deal must be completed before then.
There has been no confirmation yet from the Reds on the deal.
Even with Junior's okay, the commissioner of Major League Baseball must approve the trade.
Reports say the Reds will receive 26-year-old right handed pitcher Nick Masset, who has appeared in 32 games this year with a 1-0 record and a 4.36 ERA. The Reds also will receive infielder Danny Richar. He has split this season between AA and AAA with a .260 average.
Last night Junior hit what may be his last homerun in a Reds uniform to hear the call click here.
